Took the Neptune out today on her maiden voyage...she ran perfectly, dry as a bone inside, everything worked as it should.

Took her down, switched off the tx...up she came, so the failsafes all work. Dived her out in the middle of the lake to around about 4', again she performed perfectly. I don't know why people think that the Neptune is a plodder, mine hustles along quite nicely.

All in all...a successful day's sailing.

    Looks very good, Richard.

I've only seen and heard good things about this model.

Well, it's been a long story to get this one David...I've had three of them(the same one twice), the early imports were renowned for having poor electronics, but now Thunder Tiger have really got it together. This one came with a six channel Ace radio, an uprated esc, a much better rx, the motor has been upgraded and the whole thing is now a really good package.

I'm well pleased with mine as you might guess...!

One thing though...I did miss not having 'something' to run at periscope depth with, so I've now installed a couple of masts to give me that lovely 'feather' when running just below the surface. Mine are just a couple of sections of an old car radio aerial with brightly coloured plastic caps, should make life a bit easier.

And depth control just by extending the aerial!

    It's all clever stuff, David!

I've just been in touch with Dave at Action Electronics, he's assembling me a 10mm HiViz flashing red UltraBrite LED, with the circuit board and a 9v PP3 battery in it's own completely self contained watertight box, that will sit inside the clear canopy, the LED itself will go where you can see a red plastic dome on the top of the canopy.

There are plans afoot to respray the whole boat in 'normal' sub colours, ie: black with red anti-foul below water. That will include spraying the clear front canopy and the top canopy, much like the USS X-1. (See pic below)
