With the present state of the model boat publishing world (MMI closing etc) it would be nice to be praising an article in Model Boats BUT :
The article about the easy to build sub in the October issue is horribly backward looking. (Wooden sub, flat hatch WTC etc.)
It would have been better if they had reprinted the Charlie Class article of 1976!(I think it was.)
People wanting to build a simple model sub would be better advised to look to more modern versions of Charlie class subs like this one by John Wrennall (Appropriate materials and good "underwater engineering"):
