Hi Gents,
It’s a pleasure to be on board.
As a youngster I was into RC boats with my Father. He once made an attempt to build an type VII but failed to get it done…..but I was bitten by it. I left the hobby to explore the world a bit but submarines were always in the back of my mind. In 1997 I ordered Akula plans from Deep sea Designs (Greg Sharpe) and put them safely in a drawer. Almost two years ago I finally started to scratch build the sub. Two days ago I have discovered the AMS Facebook site and today David Forrest directed me toward the AMS forum, which is very nice. It will cost me some building time to go through it but it will be worth it.
All the crafts and tricks I use for building my sub I learned through the WWW from other people. I believe I have to give something back in return for all the lessons I have learned from you guys out there, so I will start a "Build log" on the forum with my experiences.
