We used to be at a show practically every weekend...Bewl Bridge Reservoir opening day (on the Kent/Sussex border) was a huge show, never repeated though. We did a show at a gravel pit near Rye (Sussex coast) that was a one off, fabulous day. Another show we went to was at Crowbourgh Model Boat Club home water (Sussex)...another one off, more's the pity, that was a great place to sail subs. One of the few places where it was possible for a sub to enter a steering course and stand a chance of getting round the course.
Parham Manor House (West Sussex)was another show we attended, now defunct, as is Plumpton Race Course (Sussex), Ardingly County Show (Sussex) was a great three day show we used to do.
It seems nowadays that model show organisers only cater for tugs that turn on their own axis, or warships with many operating accessories. Model submariners don't seem to figure on their invitation lists any more.
Perhaps we are all too old and rickety nowadays to drive half the length of the country for a show!
