    David, how's your tests on the Darnell radio box in the Type XX1 going? I'm trying to decide whether to use O ring cord or rubber sheet as the waterproof seal on the box in the JellyBean, just wondering which you've decided on?

    I have both 3mm silicone rubber sheet and 3mm O ring cord on order..

    Both methods seem to be working well so far.

    I think I would have slight preference for the O ring cord. (I like the method of cyanoeing one side of the O ring cord to the hatch. To my mind it takes one half of the leak potential away. You can also "snake" the cord around the bolts to balance up any uneven forces.)

    But really there does not seem to be much to choose. I still prefer a nice circular O ring seal in a cylinder. A second to take apart rather than a minute or so.

    Either is good then, by the sounds of it. I'm leaning towards O ring cord as well, I'll report back when the material arrives.
