      Peace,

      Hello Salmon:

To start with, I've built several subs , typical plastic ones
, bought a built Dumas Gato sub ,made a couple other
box stand off types and then rounded them off .Also a
M -1 -and a German type [to the Dumas- Gato style
      { oal- w -d ]] they are still static ones .
Right now I want to build a HMS x-1 and a HMS K hopefully
      K -26. First in 350 scale then 144- then a working pond
lake type. I need to get plans for them. There is a posting of k 1 -17 on these links { att. Richard thank=
you for that posting I think that was your's] I'd like
to get K-26 drawings. Nigele directed me to plans at national maritime museum , trying to look for inexpensive set. SO there's where Iam. First is to get good sets of plans then modeling then get all wet. Meany words big plans . Now make boats go ! SO HelpPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP1 or so?

      Look forward to talking

      Thank You; Salmon

Not much I can help with on getting plans, sorry. So you are going to build some static ones first in 300 then 144th scale? Excellent.that will certainly get you familiar with your sub. Have you thought of a scale for your working model? From what I know of the X-1 and the K-class submarines, there is a lot of deck and superstructure that needs to get hoisted out of the water (especially the X-1). That will be a challenge, but I do not think impossible.other than plans, let us know how we can help.
Thinking about the plans, if no one has a set, spend the money and get a good set of plans. If that is too much money, and I can understand that, consider a different sub to start out on. In the US, things for the workings on the inside of the sub, seem to add up quickly.

      Welcome to our American cousins!
It is only fair to point out that this is a UK based association and so you do know about the excellent US based Subcommittee, I imagine?
Certainly closer for attending events etc. (Though considering the size of the US if you are on the East coast you may be closer to Norwich!)
