    Hi richard
Glad to see you are still on the forum hope things are improving
What are peoples veiw on making a wtc the old way with a perspex lid bolted down
Aposed to the cylinder WTC people are using now the resson i ask is it seems a right fiddle removing them undoing pushrods and propshafts.
Ron perrott made some comments on facebook about this saying ww2 subs may benefit from using boxes for more stabillity were bommer /nuclear subs may benefit the cylinder type WTC
Paul cooks sclass sub using boxes runs so well
Im just asking peoples veiw because im hopping to take deliver of an old darrnell
o/p class sub that may have boxes already

    Take care geof

    Hi Geoff,

Personally I wouldn't go for flat top lids any more - just because of having to undo all the bolts.
I also never quite got the silicone rubber gaskets to work too well - fragile. I like O rings.

Flat tops and cylinders both have their advantages. Flat tops will certainly have a lower centre of buoyancy - so potentially more stable.

Thanks david I shall bear that in mind I will have to see what is already in the darnell p class when it comes hopefully by the end of the week if it has boxes it might be worth taking them out and starting again
