Well a very rapid response from the UK suppliers and they've passed the comments on. (Thank you!)

Just had word from Nigel that he may have a simple fix for the red pump problem.

    More soon.

The red pump(in ORP Dzik) had an other outing at the Barrow pond yesterday.Still working fine and it has been in use since October last year - so endurance is not TOO bad.

Well red pump is still working at the end of the season and one year of regular use. So perhaps these pumps are not that bad after all.

Well, that's a pretty good recommendation David...do you use 12v or 6v to run the pump?

12 v always. (Or actually 11 point something from 3 Lipos)

Probably best to end this long term test now - since I have moved on to Piston tanks.

In summary, the red plastic pump made in China pump seems to be OK. It is very good value for money and fails safe. (i.e your sub will not dive if it fails.)
